One hundred percent of the active Fellows from the first six classes graduated from high school and were accepted at one or more colleges and universities. These 120 students collectively earned $16.5 million in financial aid. Twenty-five percent of Alumni attend Ivy League universities and 62% attend other top tier national universities or liberal arts colleges.
Since its inception, TEAK has helped 100% of its active Fellows (ten classes) earn admission to one or more academically selective high schools. They have secured nearly $24 million in aid representing 95% of their total tuition. The Fellows have been placed at top public, independent, and parochial high schools across New York City and the Northeast.
In 2009, public service and private enterprise internships opportunities were made available to 47 students in industries including law, science, business, finance, education, media, and the arts.
In 2009, TEAK connected 13 Fellows to summer enrichment opportunities including studying abroad, Outward Bound & National Outdoor Leadership School trips, a writing workshop, and a science research program.
Senior evaluations by each graduating class since 2004 indicate great satisfaction with TEAK and its programs. The average assessments on a scale of 1 (low) to 5 (high) to these statements were:

65% of Alumni chose to give back to TEAK through a financial contribution or a gift of service in 2009.
TEAK saw 12 members of the second class graduate from college, bringing the total number of college graduates to 27. These graduates include a Fulbright Scholar, two AmeriCorps volunteers, a litigation paralegal, a credit analyst at Société Générale, a PhD student at Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, and the first full-time Alumna staff member. |
